Staging/Touring

Venue/Staging/Touring Logistics (as of 2002 Note: details
change from project to project. Please enquire re the present)

  1. Venue

A priority is good natural or enhanced acoustics. Floor and ceiling
    surfaces

    preferably wooden or tiled.

From Scratch occupies a central circular area of approx 6 metres
    diameter.

Microphone enhancement preferable in most circumstances, plus
    experienced

    technician provided by organizers.
  2. Staging:

Preferred staging is in full or 2/3 round at the same level (or
lower) as the audience. This is intrinsic to the performing style
of the group. Audience can be positioned in full, 3/4 or 2/3 round,
or along two sides. The group can adapt to proscenium if the only
    option available.
  3. Lighting:

The group uses simple dramatic overhead lighting, off grid or
on high-stand rigging. (details supplied on request).
  4. Sound:

Amplification enhancement is desirable in most venues. Approx'
    10 microphones are required.
  5. Storage and assembly space is required. Rehearsal space is also
needed, ideally being the actual performance area.
  6. The group prefers to be on location at least one day prior to
performance for setup and rehearsal, as instruments & lighting
can take up to 3-4 hours to assemble. If this is not possible
a minimum of 5 hours is required for assembly and set up prior
    to performance.
