The Music
A Performance Style:
The style of music/sound performance references old/new, primal/fractal,
analogue/digital. Unique instruments, a rhythmic language that includes
spatial hocketing, drone textures & seamless sound structures,
combine to characterise performances with energetic rhythm and elements
of moving image, sculpture & ritual.
Visual interest has been equal to sound from the outset. Sculptural
looking instruments have evolved from being random tuned to micro
pitched, and from junk to custom built.
A dynamic and distinctive performance language has evolved where
funky rhythms are interwoven around beds of shifting pulse. The
music, mostly structured, has an air of improv' heightened by a
rapport between players and an element of surprise. What you hear
you also see, and visa versa. Performances operate as a junction
for musical, visual, and social ideas.
